Thursday 24 November 2016. Following the first call for funding applications, launched in April 2016, we are now launching the second call for applications to the Support Fund for Family Farming National Committee actions. This fund sits within the project “The Legacy of IYFF 2014 and the way forward” which, following the positive results of the International Year of Family Farming 2014, will allow better public policies to be developed on family farming at national level and will enable the level of implementation of these policies to be improved. The organizations involved in the Support Fund are FIDA, FAO, WRF, FIDA-MERCOSUR-CLAEH, INADES and AMARC.
Established Family Farming National Committees and organizations wishing to set up a new FFNC in their own country will be able to submit their proposals until 17:00 (local time in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain) on 12 January 2017.
After a technical analysis, the projects submitted will be evaluated by a selection committee consisting of 3 representatives from the IYFF+10 World Coordination Committee (AFA, COPROFAM and PAFO) and a representative from the World Rural Forum, with FIDA and FAO as observers.
The requirements for the call for funding applications are set out in the Document “Support Fund for Family Farming National Committees: the project document on terms and conditions for submissions”.
Active established FFNCs should fill in application form M1.
Organizations wishing to set up a new FFNC in their own country should fill in application form M2.
Applications should be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
PROPOSALS SELECTED IN THE FIRST CALL FOR FUNDING APPLICATIONS
46 applications were submitted during the first call for applications and, following a technical analysis of each one, 6 proposals were selected by the selection committee.
As mentioned in the news item published a few weeks ago (here we can put the link to the news item) the fund will support relevant improvements to public policy agendas in Madagascar, Indonesia, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic. It will also facilitate the creation of new Family Farming National Committees in Fiji and Macedonia.
