
The Spanish Network for Rural Development approved its work plan for 2012.
[07-04-2012]The Spanish Network for Rural Development (REDR, in its spanish acronym), member of the board of the World Rural Forum, held on Friday (June 29) a general assembly which unanimously approved the 2011 accounts, as well as the budget and work plan for 2012.
The meeting was held at the head office of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, in Madrid. The president of the REDR, Aurelio García Bermúdez, expressed to be "concerned" with the reduction in European funding programs for rural development. More specifically, he referred to the 5% decrease in the minimun percentage allocated to LEADER, within the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
The general assembly also discussed a position paper, developed by organizations within the National Rural Network, on the second pillar of the Common Agricultural Policy in the period 2014-2020. The local action groups and the regional networks were asked to make contributions in order to enrich the document.
