European ministers met to discuss the future of the CAP

[06-02-2010]

European agriculture ministers met in Mérida to discuss the future of the CAP. The meeting showed the two positions that exist in this regard. France and Germany are committed to continue, while the United Kingdom calls for a reduction and reorientation of the CAP budget.

Outside the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions, venue of the meeting, thousands of farmers marched to demand that from 2013 must be a Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) strong and solid, with sufficient budget to ensure the future of this sector.
