The 3rd ASEAN Civil Society Conference (ACSC)

The 3rd ASEAN Civil Society Conference (ACSC) shall be held in Singapore on 2-4 November 2007, prior to the holding of the 13th ASEAN Summit of Leaders in the same city on the third week of November 2007.

The 3rd ACSC, again organized by South East Asian civil society organizations, will be mainly an ASEAN civil society/social movement event with interfaces with resource persons from ASEAN Governments, the ASEAN Secretariat, and CSOs and social movements from outside the ASEAN region.

BASQUE RURAL TOURISM AND AZERBAIJAN

Recently two members of the Azerbaijani Government (from the Departments of Economy and Agriculture) visited the Basque Country to take part in a training week on Rural Tourism organised by the World Rural Forum (WRF) with the collaboration of the Basque Government and Nekazalturismoa, among others.
This initiative arose from the close collaboration the WRF has held with the Swiss Cooperation through Joërg Wyder, since its beginnings.

Sugar reform: Commission proposes to improve sugar restructuring scheme

The European Commission today proposed changes to the sugar restructuring scheme aimed at making it more effective and thus reducing European Union sugar production to sustainable levels.
