Promotion of self-sufficiency in food and self-financing in the rural environment in Burundi.

- This project aims to obtain self-sufficiency in food for the rural community of the province of Gitega, in Burundi, threatened by hunger. Emphasis will be given to two main aspects: agricultural crops and cattle raising. The specific actions to be carried out are: a) agricultural crops: buying and planting fruit trees, such as avocados, oranges, lemons, papayas, plums and primarily bananas. b) Cattle: buying goats, rabbits and chickens, as well as constructing basic stable infrastructures. Both parts of the project will be supported with technical training and supervision provided by local personnel. The CSCE has contributed 10,000 euros to the funding of this project. The FCI has contributed 5,000 euros.

- Gitega Community, sub-groups: Quartier Swahili, Site Birohe, Nyabututsi-Mushasha, Songa-Tankoma and Nyakibingo-Gitamo, in total about 200 families.
