Projects
Faced with the existence of rural situations where the conditions of life are extremely hard and where the main concern of the inhabitants, who depend to a large extent on the solidarity of others for their survival, is food security, the WRF is promoting a series of Cooperation Projects for developing countries.
Given the rural nature of the Forum, and taking into account that it is in this field where its contribution may be most valuable, certain conditions have been established for the projects which the WRF will endeavour to support. The project must be an initiative taken within a rural environment and related with agriculture or livestock. Support is given to projects concerned with the production, processing and commercialisation of food products or other agriculture-livestock-related products (cotton, flowers, medicinal plants, wool, milk, cheese, etc.), livestock (shepherding,.), improvement of infrastructures (the levelling of land, wells, irrigation systems, stables, warehouses, machinery,.), technical-professional training in the field of agriculture, etc.
In any event, it is the WRF's Board of Directors, together with the assessment of the Executive Secretariat, which selects the projects in which the Forum involves itself from among all those received through its wide network of contacts.
Although these courses of action are basically financed through support lines for cooperation projects announced by various public and private entities, the WRF also has its own Solidarity Fund. It is thanks to this fund, which is fed by the WRF's associates and collaborators, that we are able to promote small projects which it has not been possible to finance in other ways.
